The problem with nuclear energy is the radioactive contamination presents a danger only because of the long duration of radioactive wastes that can sometimes last for hundreds of years. The disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the former Soviet Union, itself released a significant fraction of the total radioactive material has been released into the Earth's atmosphere. In the case of a limited nuclear war, many radioactive substances achieved enter into a food chain, producing a crop of diseases for generations, after the deaths acute change Nuclear.
In my opinion this kind os desaster can happen again.
This are not the only problems that this kind energy have, even in times of peace, the wide production of nuclear waste at the generating plants, would have a similar effect, mainly due to accidents that can occur during transportation of such wastes. To this should be added the potential dangers created by the destruction of a nuclear plant by manufacturing defects, neglijencia, sabotage of war or other uses of nuclear fuel.
Eg The "moss" reindeer, arctic lichen, has the ability to concentrate substances precipitation and atmospheric dust. This concentrated radioactive strontium, then, is focus (more or less as persistent plaguisidas) whenever the reindeer eat lichens. When the Eskimos Lapps and milked the reindeer, the radioactive strontium is concentrated further and may reach the body of a child. In the food chain grass-cow-man, a true biological magnification similar but less defined. The ecological effects of nuclear war indirect focus beyond any calculation, but it is likely that in a nuclear exchange in which both nations were involved, destroy nearly all terrestrial ecosystems, because nuclear waste air are drawn around the globe by the atmospheric circulation.
For me the solution to this problem is the use of renobables energies, which are much less harmful and far less polluting than this energy. The wind power or solar energy would be my solution to this problem, Virtually inexhaustible natural sources, some by the huge amount of energy they contain, and because they are able to regenerate itself by natural means
